What is Holiday Foster?
When people volunteer to bring home a cat or dog for the holidays. The goal is to give the animals a break from the shelter life to relax, decompress, and get a goodnight's sleep.
How does it work?
You can come into the shelter a week or so before the Holidays to meet all our available cats and dogs. If you already have a dog in your home you will need to bring your dog in to do a meet and greet with our dogs. We want to make sure we are setting you up for success and the dogs get along. You will pick your top 2-3 dogs you would prefer and pick one of them up on specified date from the shelter. Usually it is 1-2 days before the holiday. You will then return them a day or two after the holiday or if you fall in love you can adopt them at any point within the foster period.
The shelter provides everything you need from food, bowls, bed, crate (if you need one), toys, and treats. You will also have a contact for a specific person at the shelter for any questions, concerns, and to send picture updates to! WE LOVE UPDATES!
